Ms. Branton

Hello Liberty Hill FFA. My name is Kristi Branton and I am one of your Ag Teachers  this year. Kristi21.jpg

I am so excited to get to know and work with all of you. First I want all of you to get to know me and what I have been doing over the years.
I am fresh off of two years teaching in a inner city school district in Houston. While I was there, I was able to start building the frameworks of a great program. However I realized that I needed to return home to Central Texas.

I was raised on a cattle ranch in Georgetown, Texas, and went to school in Florence. I was very active in their FFA Program growing up. FFA was my life in High School. From raising animals for livestock shows, training for CDE's and LDE's, to being a part of the Officer Team. I was a part of a program that, like Liberty Hill, is one of the best in the state. I was on two different National Champion CDE Teams, many top placing state CDE teams, had a State Champion Proficiency, and many other FFA successes that are impossible to measure.

I went to college at Tarleton State University and while I was there I was a member of the Collegiate FFA and Collegiate Meat Judging Team. I was able to travel all over the United States and judge meat. While in college I did summer internships for Sanderson Farms (live production) and Tyson Fresh Meats (Beef Food Safety). These allowed me to get a real world perspective about agriculture and the meat industry. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Services and Development.

I will be teaching all of the classes on the Vet Science pathway as well as Principles of Agriculture.  My dog, Trixie, and new kittens, Dobby and Kreacher, promise to be frequent visitors to the Vet Science Laboratory.

I cant wait to continue to build a GREAT program with Mr. Brown and ELEVATE for the new school year.
